1 DAY TRIP TO PULAU MANUKAN & PULAU SAPI

During our holidays for a week, we not to miss an opportunity to go to 2 islands for our travel mission. The two places we visited is the Pulau Manukan and Pulau Sapi which is 2 of the islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park.

Access is from the jetty at Sabah Port Authority in downtown Kota Kinabalu, a few minutes away from Hyatt Regency Kinabalu. Boat journey takes about 20 minutes to the island. It is the second largest of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, Manukan has good stretches of beaches on the southern coastline. The best stretch is on the eastern tip of the island.

We had an enjoyable time in the island with the fishes and the sea is simply nice and clear. We enjoyed the breeze and snookering along the beach. The place is very nice and beautiful and we had a long enjoyable time there. We can enjoy the school of fishes around the islands as well.

Next destination will be Pulau Sapi where the boat will pick us up and head to the island itself.

“Pulau Sapi, literally known as "Cow Island" in Malay is just off the south-western tip of Pulau Gaya. The 25 acre (10 ha) island features one of the nicest beaches in the park and most popular with tourists for snorkeling and scuba diving. Between 10am and 4pm the island gets quite busy with foreign tourists but after the last ferry leaves it becomes a tranquil island with only those staying overnight. It is developed with tourist facilities that includes a jetty, picnic shelters, barbecue pits, tables, changing rooms and toilets. The forest is inhabited by macaques. Camping and campfires are allowed with the permission from the Park Warden.”

We had a swim and enjoying the environment there. After a few hours in the beach, we are simply exhausted and just take a few pictures before heading back to Kota Kinabalu.
