If the answer is ‘yes’, then it is best to head on to the Calvary Carnival 2015 on Saturday, September 12, at the Calvary Convention Centre (CCC) at Bukit Jalil (next to the Bukit Jalil Golf and Country Club).
Back for its fifth year since 2006, this year’s carnival held for the first time on home grounds will be bigger and infused with more excitement. It will see 150 stalls set up to attract over 20,000 visitors.
Visitors can literally have their breakfast, lunch and ‘tah pau’ their dinner on that day from the vast array of food stalls available. Vendors and church members will be serving up a storm of local and international cuisine such as nasi lemak, nasi kerabu, nasi dagang, chee chong fun, roasted duck, nyonya kuih, thosai and idli, various kinds of laksa, Japanese bento and popiah and Filipino chicken. Even Nando’s will be there.
KFC and Pizza Hut food trucks among others will park themselves with gourmet and fast food offerings to whet your appetite. There’s even a stall selling roasted organic and free range locally grown turkeys.
There will be fresh imported fruits and vegetables on sale by Euro Atlantic, durian coffee, coconut shake and various kinds of cakes, pastries and snacks too.
A potpourri of interesting items will be up for grabs for shoppers at the bazaar ranging from fashionable clothes and accessories to kiddie toys and super value jumble sale buys.
In addition, there will be a variety of fun games and performances such as bungee trampoline, giant inflatables, dunking machine, aqua bubble game and many more. Watch the funny antics of Mr. Bean impersonator as he tickles your funny bone!
Visitors will be treated to a day of funtastic movie extravaganza with feature films like The Grace Card, Hidden Treasure (Cantonese) and October Baby for the adults while kids are treated to a family film series from Adventures in Odyssey.
BookXcess makes a comeback for yet another day with 30,000 books of great reads at impeccable discounts! So, bring along extra bags or boxes and get ready for the rush.
Feeling a little ‘blah’ about your hairstyle and wanting a new look? A bob or a pixie, or simply ‘crew’ it. A Cut Above hair styling salon will be zipping out haircuts at discounted prices for the day.
The Calvary Carnival 2015 will also be hosting 16 homes comprising of more than 500 children and adults that have been fully sponsored by kind donors. They will be spending a day out at the carnival to enjoy all the fun and food.
“After immense successes with the carnivals in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2012, the Calvary Carnival 2015 is back and promises to deliver even more surprises, thrills and excitement,” said Associate Pastor Richard Yun.
“The Carnival is a family wholesome effort to reach out and to serve the community around us through some fun and leisure. We wish to express our gratitude in advance for those who would be joining us on that day,” he added.
Admission is free of charge and parking facilities have been arranged at nearby parking areas. The Carnival begins at 9.00am and ends at 5.00pm. Carnival coupons will be used for all transactions and will be available at the venue.
Shuttle services are also available from Sri Petaling LRT station, the National Sports Complex ‘C’ Car Park and Taman Bukit Jalil Recreational Park, to the CCC on the day.
