TUNE LABS PARTNERS WITH AMADEUS ‘NEXT’ TO FURTHER STRENGTHEN THE REGION’S LEADING TRAVEL TECH STARTUP COMMUNITY

As a travel technology startup and ultimately the ‘new kid on the block’, there can be a variety of hurdles to success. Gaining access to customers to validate a solution, or having the experience and knowledge of existing market leaders, can be a challenge. This is where Amadeus Next comes in, collaborating across the travel tech industry to open doors for startups.

Today, Amadeus announces its latest Amadeus Next partnership with Tune Labs, the incubator and accelerator programme of Tune Group, whose founders have brought to market businesses such as AirAsia, Tune Hotels, Tune Insurance and Tune Money.

Both companies have a common goal in mind; to boost the travel tech startup scene in Asia Pacific. By creating a community of like-minded partners, passionate about driving travel tech innovation forward, Amadeus Next can benefit not only startups, but also the broader industry and the traveller.

Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, Group Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia and Co-founder of Tune Labs commented, “We are seeing a lot of startup talent in this region but many of them do not have the support and opportunities that their Western counterparts are getting. By collaborating with Amadeus, an equally enthusiastic partner, we can unleash the full potential of entrepreneurs in our region, allowing them to innovate, disrupt and achieve growth.”

Amadeus Next allows startups to develop new ideas and scale their businesses by leveraging technology, expertise, reach and funding. Having partners such as Tune Labs on board means members of the Amadeus Next community can also benefit from access to customers and their much-needed validation, allowing startups to quickly prove their model or solution.

Albert Pozo, President of Amadeus Asia Pacific says, “Startups often disrupt the status quo by challenging and pushing technology to new frontiers. They play a significant role in shaping the future of travel and how we can evolve services and offerings to travellers. Partnering with Tune Labs is a huge milestone for Amadeus Next as we continue to build the leading travel tech startup community in Asia Pacific.”

In addition to Tune Labs, Amadeus Next is also working with partners such as Hubba Thailand, MaGIC (Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre), E27, TravHQ and Jungle Ventures. These partnerships are integral to Amadeus Next’s aim of developing a collaborative travel startup community in Asia Pacific.
