Malaysia’s First Fully Accredited International School Unveils Its Visionary New Campus

The new campus of the International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) will continue the heritage of exceptional international education to children of families who are global minded and seek a diverse learning environment.

The new purpose built campus facility will serve as an anchor for comprehensive educational programs catering to elementary, middle and high school children and is expected to accommodate 1800 students in 2018 with an ultimate capacity for 2,500 students. The school will also have approximately 230 full time teachers, recruited from around the world.

ISKL’s ’green’ designed facility will be the first Malaysian school designed to achieve platinum Green Building Index (GBI) status with environmentally sustainable concepts. Currently, ISKL is already an Eco World School and the 1st school in South East Asia to be given The Green Flag award.

Mr. Saif Malik, ISKL Chairman of the Board added, “ISKL offers diversity, international experience and a nurturing environment for our students to be game changers in the global platform. The new campus will have a particular combination of academic, performing, and athletic facilities making it unique on the landscape of area international schools.”

ISKL has partnered with the Employees Provident Fund and the Malaysian Government to secure suitable land within the existing ISKL catchment along Ampang Hilir, as a resource for educators and learners throughout the region.

In addition, the campus set on approximately 25.7 acre land in Ampang Hilir, is designed to create the most advanced learning environment, featuring academic and athletic resources. This includes world-class science labs and classrooms with flexible teaching spaces, two libraries, gymnasiums, competition swimming facilities, regulation track, and playing fields.

The heart of the school is the central plaza and the performing arts center which will include a 650 seat theater, concert recital hall, black box theater and atrium amphitheater that will give students the best support and facilities to explore and develop their talents.

The new ISKL groundbreaking ceremony was held on April 25, 2016 at the Ampang Hilir site. The ISKL Ampang Hilir campus, is anticipated to open in August  2018.
