NKF OPEN DAY TO PROMOTE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE AND THE PREVENTION OF DISEASE

In conjunction of World Kidney Day 2017, National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia (NKF) invites members of public to attend its Open Day on 9th March 2017 (Thursday) at the NKF Resource Centre, which will be from 9am all the way till 4pm.

The day’s programme will kick off with a 30-minute Jazzercise session and also NKF Mobile Health Screenings, eye tests, stress analysis and breast examinations. There will also be an organ donation drive to encourage the public to pledge to donate their organs, which will go a long way in lending a new lease of life for people in dire need for organ transplants, including kidney transplants.
To add an element of fun to the event, visitors to the Open Day stand to win lucky draw prizes just by registering at the event.
Following the Open Day, NKF together with Malaysia Society of Nephrology, Ministry of Health and the Malaysian Health Promotion Board (MySihat) will also commemorate World Kidney Day on a national level with a Cyclethon from 13 March 2017 to 18 March 2017. 30 cyclists will embark on a 670 km journey flagged off by the Raja Muda Perlis from Kangar to Putrajaya.
World Kidney Day is observed globally every year on the second Thursday of March. This year, World Kidney Day will centre around raising awareness on the harmful consequence of obesity and its association with kidney disease. The event will also raise awareness and educate the public on ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle and measures to keep dangerous diseases at bay.
