‘Show Your Flavor’ – Self-Expression through Colors this Summer

 Summer is a season about outdoor activities, fun, adventurous, playful, energetic and experiencing new thing which is out from our daily routine!

Inspired by the colors and elements of summer and Frappuccino, Starbucks collaborates with Dulux Paints to invite local talents in showcasing their creativity in mural art at selected Starbucks stores in Malaysia. Align with Starbucks summer campaign tagline ‘Show Your Flavor’, Starbucks wants to encourage customers to be daring and adventurous to try on new experiences and express themselves through colors this summer. Hence, Starbucks invited local talents to create their own unique masterpiece at the walls of selected Starbucks store using the high quality and colorful paints provided by Dulux Paint. Playing around the elements of colorful, adventurous, bright, bold and energetic, these masterpieces will be officially unveiled to the public on the 7 June.


This is the first ever collaboration between Starbucks and Dulux in showcasing the local talents in mural art. Through this collaboration, Starbucks Malaysia and Dulux Paint strongly believe that this project will create a platform for the local talents to showcase their creativity in mural arts and embrace the Malaysia’s culture and lifestyle. The selected Starbucks stores for this project could also be a great point of attractions for both tourist and the locals. In Klang Valley region, the project was kicked off at Starbucks Jalan Ampang Drive-Thru, with 23 artists on-board in this project. Whereas in Penang, Starbucks Malaysia has worked with art lecturers and 5 students from Equator College, Academy of Art to create beautiful wall art using elements inspired by the colors of summer, Starbucks Frappuccino®, and Penang culture and lifestyle at the wall of Starbucks Tanjung Tokong Drive-Thru. More stores will be involved in this project in coming future.

Artist who participated in this mural art project consist of different profile and background. Which consist of students, fresh graduates, self-taught artist, lecturers, executives and more. “It’s such an honor for me to be part of this amazing project. I am a self-taught artist and this has given us an opportunity to expose my artwork to more people.” said Muhammad Hasif. Adeline Shatsala, coming from banking and finance background has taken the opportunity to do what she is always passionate about. “I love drawing and I picked up doodling when I was young. As I am currently working in an industry that has nothing to do with art, I usually spent my free time doodling on my sketch book.” said Adeline Shatsala.

Aligning with Starbucks ‘Show Your Flavor’ Mural Art Project, Starbucks encouraged customers and public to showcase their creativity by expressing their colors of summer on canvas on the 20 May. Starbucks allocated 8 units of empty canvas along with color materials at selected stores around Malaysia. Customer who walks in the store are free to draw anything they want which is inspired from layouts and colors of the Starbucks Frappuccino®. The design of the canvas will be merge and edit to be developed as giant billboard and display along few major highways In Malaysia:

·         Juru-Auto City, Penang
·         The mall building façade of Tropicana City Mall, Selangor

This summer, we want to invite all Starbucks fans and customers to enjoy the new Starbucks® Irish Cream Coffee Pudding Frappuccino® and Starbucks® Matcha Earl Grey Jelly Frappuccino® which will be available at all Starbucks stores in Malaysia. Both of these delicious Frappuccino® beverages are introduce to Malaysia’s customers for the very first time. Available for a limited time only, the Starbucks® Irish Cream Coffee Pudding Frappuccino® and Starbucks® Matcha Earl Grey Jelly Frappuccino® is priced at RM18.60 and onwards. The Starbucks® Iced Coffee Blend whole bean is priced at RM40 while the new range of summer merchandise collection retails from RM48 onwards.

A fresh take on a classic coffee beverage, the Starbucks® Irish Cream Coffee Pudding Frappuccino® blended beverage has beautifully layered, creamy flavors. A coffee pudding base is infused with rich Irish Cream flavor, then topped with fluffy espresso whipped cream and finely ground espresso powder. The elegant balance of sweet and roasty will entice dessert lovers everywhere.
·         Starbucks® Matcha Earl Grey Jelly Frappuccino®
Tea fans have a reason to celebrate this summer with the Starbucks® Matcha Earl Grey Jelly Frappuccino® blended beverage, the latest and greatest in tea taste and textures. A bright layer of green tea gives this beverage its distinctive summer color, and traditional earl grey tea is transformed into a delightful jelly layer. Finished with fluffy whipped cream and Matcha powder.
